Richard started his golf career as a junior at Scunthorpe Golf Club at the tender age of 11. By the time he was 15 he had achieved a handicap of 4 and was playing for Lincolnshire juniors and their 2nd team. He moved south to Ferndown Golf Club in 1978 and studied with Doug Sewell until 1983 when he became a full professional and joined John Sharkey at Queens Park Golf Club in Bournemouth. He became head professional there in 1988 and remained there until 2004 when he joined us at Parley Court.
During his time at Ferndown Richard coached the Dorset County Girls' Team and now coaches the successful Bournemouth University Team.
Richard offers coaching and game improvement lessons to all standards as well as those very important refresher and diagnostic sessions to get your game back on track. He utilises both the adjoining range and the course for his lessons depending on the type of teaching required.
